When a funeral service ends, families still need somewhere to sit down together. That gathering goes by a lot of names — an afterpass, a repast, a remembrance luncheon — and at Summerset Group Hospitality it falls under the service we call Bereavement: a private and compassionate space for remembrance and reflection. The point of an afterpass is simple. People who have driven in, stood through a service and held it together all morning need to eat something, sit near each other and talk. Our job is to make that part easy, so nobody in the family is carrying trays or watching the clock.
We keep the arrangements short and direct. Tell us roughly how many are coming and what time the service ends, and we set the room for that. Nothing about the day needs to be elaborate unless you want it to be.

Catering is handled in house, from a curated menu of exquisite flavors, so the food for an afterpass is one conversation rather than three. Families usually want something familiar and generous — plates that keep coming, coffee that does not run out, a table people can go back to. We will walk the menu with you and build the service around the hour your guests will actually arrive.
If the gathering doubles as a birthday the person would have had, or an anniversary the family wants to mark, our custom cakes are expertly crafted for any occasion and can be made for that too. Some families ask for it; plenty don't. Either is fine.
Open 24 hours, seven days a week
Bereavement plans are rarely made a month out. They are made the night before, or the morning of, which is why our doors and our phone line are open Monday through Sunday, 24 hours a day. Reach us whenever you are able to — early, late, or in the middle of making a dozen other calls — and we will tell you straight away what we can set up and when.
